WHAT IS ROLL FORMING??

Roll forming is a continuous bending operation in which a long strip of metal (typically coiled steel) is passed through consecutive sets of rolls, or stands, each performing only an incremental part of the bend, until the desired cross-section profile is obtained. Roll forming is ideal for producing parts with long lengths or in large quantities.

Formtek is formed with some of the finest names in the metal forming and processing equipment industries to provide the best and broadest productivity solutions available.

Furthermore, our group of companies has the largest service net-work in the industry to support your needs.

Yoder roll forming equiptment and roll tooling

THE PIONEER OF ROLL FORMING AND TUBE MILL TECHNOLOGY SINCE 1910, YODER HAS A LONG REPUTATION OF PROVIDING QUALITY METALFORMING EQUIPMENT BUILT TO LAST A LIFETIME.

Using a Yoder roll forming machine in your  manufacturing process that can save you money and produce a better product, too. It is a way to mass produce parts made by other metal forming methods (e.g., press brakes, extrusion, etc.).

To see if your product can be roll formed, just give us a drawing or sketch of the part. From there, we'll determine if it can be practically roll formed. If so, we'll also recommend which of our popular standard machines, either the classic M-Style or the quick-change QVW-Style, is right for you.

Even if a standard machine won't meet your needs, Yoder can also provide custom equipment that's built for your product. For example, their PVR stand was designed specifically for driving tall sections through the mill.

So if you think you have a roll forming application, give Yoder a call!

If you already know what machine you need, check out their inventory of standard roll forming machines available for quick delivery.

Tishken roll forming parts

SINCE 1921 TISHKEN HAS BUILT ROLL FORMING LINES THAT WORK CONTINUOUS AND EFFICIENTLY TO PERFORM MANY OPERATION AUTOMATICALLY.

There is no definite mathematical rule or formula that can be followed in selecting Roll Forming Machines, but there are at least three fundamental points whcih should be carefull y considered and checked: (1) Load, (2) Size of section, (3) Shape of Section.

When in doubt submit full details of sections and operating conditions and ask for recommendations.

HAVE AN OLD MILL THAT COULD USE A LITTLE HELP?
Why not let Formtek rebuild that old mill and make it new all over again? With the business world as competitive as it has ever been before, it's important to make the most of the old equipment you already have or are looking to buy. To help, Formtek offers a complete rebuild program geared to assist customers with their equipment.

In addition, when we say "rebuild", we don't just mean a new coat of paint either. Unlike many used equipment dealers, when we rebuild a mill, we give it our standard new equipment one (1) year warranty. Furthermore, every Formtek mill is rebuilt with genuine Yoder, Tishken, Dahlstrom or Lockformer parts.

Although Formtek doesn't actively deal in the used equipment market, we do rebuild used mills. If you're contemplating buying a used mill, consider contracting one of our service people to inspect the mill before you buy it. Our Service Department will prepare a written report on the mill with an estimate of the cost to rebuild it.

If interested, please contact the Service Department to help get you started.
