WHAT IS ROLL FORMING??

Roll forming is a continuous bending operation in which a long strip of metal (typically coiled steel) is passed through consecutive sets of rolls, or stands, each performing only an incremental part of the bend, until the desired cross-section profile is obtained. Roll forming is ideal for producing parts with long lengths or in large quantities.

From there, we'll determine if it can be practically roll formed. There is no definite mathematical rule or formula that can be followed in selecting Roll Forming Machines, but there are at least three fundamental points whcih should be carefull y considered and checked: (1) Load, (2) Size of section, (3) Shape of Section. When in doubt submit full details of sections and operating conditions and ask for recommendations.

Unlike many used equipment dealers, when we rebuild a mill, we give it our standard new equipment one (1) year warranty. Furthermore, every Formtek mill is rebuilt with genuine Yoder, Tishken, Dahlstrom or Lockformer parts. Although Formtek doesn't actively deal in the used equipment market, we do rebuild used mills.
