News & Updates from Formtek

Formtek

May, 2010

Lockformer Custom Machinery recently supplied a new Duplex 820 Roll Forming Machine to produce construction wall panels.  The system can produce products at varying widths all by adjustment; thus, greatly minimizing changeover times.  The system replaces the current production method of press braking and will greatly increase production rates.

Dahlstrom has supplied a refurbished a 400-Series Roll Forming Machine to produce gate support "Z" channels.  The system can produce products at speeds up to 100 FPM (for 4' cut lengths), which drastically reduce costs when compared to the old production method of press braking.  A new drive system, coupled with an open loop length control system, gives the user batching capabilities to produce one of three cut lengths, almost tripling current production rates!

 Yoder 100th Anniversary!

Yoder Manufacturing turns 100 Years Old in 2010!  Check our website throughout the year to see how many machines are still running after 50 or 60 years.  You can also view the history of Yoder on our history page on the website.

Oldest Yoder Promotion

Since 1910, Yoder has revolutionized the sheet metal forming industry.  We are looking for the oldest Yoder machinery in production.  Do you have a Yoder machine from the 1930's, 1940's or 1950's that is still in production?  Have you inherited a Yoder machine that you think may be old?  Or are you just curious of the history on your Yoder equipment?  If you are interested in participating, please send us:

·         Yoder Serial Number

·         Model of the Yoder Machine (if you know)

·         Digital picture of the Yoder machine

·         Address where Yoder machine is currently installed

With that information, we will compile the information to find out the oldest Yoder machine in production.  The winner will be featured in our 100th anniversary marketing campaign.  Please email  us your information.

Rely on the Strength of Formtek

This recession has hit everyone in the metal forming industry; including our customers, competitors and vendors as well as us.  Additionally, there have been several casualties of idling, restructure and liquidations.  Among these casualties are companies with names similar to ours, such as FormTech, which have no relation to the Formtek Group.

With the financial backing of our parent company, Mestek, Inc., the Formtek Group has maintained a strong balance sheet to weather the storm of this recession.  You can be sure to count on us now and in the future for your metal forming needs, whether it is new equipment, parts or service, we are here for you.
